What Is the Faculty Activity Reporting System?
The Faculty Activity Reporting system (FARs) exists to comply with requirements outlined in the appropriation bill enacted by the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. The bill mandates that the University collect and report data on faculty activities and average weekly workloads each term.
Who Needs to Complete a Survey?
Regular full-time faculty, research associates, and librarians are the only employees required to report average workweek hours on the survey form. The FARs survey is administered during the summer, fall, and spring terms after each census date. Faculty on sabbatical are not required to complete the survey.
What are the census dates?
- Fall term: September 28
- Spring term: February 4
- Summer term: July 15
